Our Homes & lifestyle
There are more than
25 families who open
and share their homes
in our community
There are more than 10 different
indigenous ethnic groups and dialects
spoken in our village. Commonly grouped
and known as the "Orang Sungai"

Numerous traditional dances are still used
to celebrate special occasions
Our village is surrounded by natural
forests and plantations of oilpalm.

We have a rich cultural heritage in
the area, with burial caves located in
the centre of our village
The Kinabatangan River

This is the life-blood of our people
and our economy

Today the wildlife we have preserved
for hundreds of years is a famous
attraction for  visitors - we arrange
specialist trips to see wildlife in the
area.
Our village homes are all different.

Some are big, some are small, all are
equally hospitable and put on a host
of local traditional foods
Our village homes are all different.

Some homestays are in the village
centre, some are on nearby farms...

We arrange the homestay allocation
from our village office, and send
registered guests to their allocated host
family, following a rotation system.

We usually arrange 2 guests per
homestay, or for family groups to stay in
one homestay together.
